Volunteers are always needed!
There are always things to be done at the Presbyterian Camp on Okoboji and we want YOUR help! From counseling, kitchen help, housekeeping, landscaping, painting, wood work, yard work, and so much more, your help is not only appreciated, it is very much needed!
Fall, Winter, and Spring Opportunities
- Work Groups - working to update cabins, build bunk beds, paint buildings, gardening, and much more! If you or your group have special skills, let us know. Contact Don Reed, our Site Manager,712- 337-3313
- Kitchen Help - We can always use help with cooking for retreats! Contact the camp office for dates.
- Cleaning Help - We need help cleaning rooms after retreats and guests. We also need general cleaning from time to time. Contact the office.
- Office Help - In October and December, we tend to do large bulk mailings. If you can help fold or stuff envelopes, we would love the help and the company!
Summer Opportunities
There are many ways in which we can utilize volunteers during our summer camp ministry.
- Volunteer Cabin Counselors - Previous counseling or youth work experience, you must be 18+ years old, available for at least a week or more, and you must complete an application form.
- Volunteer Nurses - If you are a nurse with a current license, need a little time with nature, and enjoy working with youth, this is the perfect opportunity for you! Stay for at least a week (more is better but we will take a week).
- Trip Chaperone or driver - Adults 25+ years old are needed to drive our campers to the Boundary Waters. Must have a valid driver's license with no moving violations. May assist with counseling campers into the campsite.
- Volunteer Support Staff - Must be 16+ years old and available for at least one week. Support Staff assists with kitchen duties, cleaning, trash detail, water cooler dispensing, and more.
- Kitchen Assistant - Our cooks can always use an extra hand. Help prepare and serve food.
- Maintenance Help - From mowing to fixing things, there are a number of jobs that Don could use your assistance.
- General Cleaning and Upkeep - It is busy during the summer at camp! Come help keep the camp beautiful.
